Before paid subscriptions launch
A final policy must state the legal seller or merchant of record, support channel, currencies, prices, billing periods, refund eligibility and request deadlines, processing times, and any treatment of plan changes and unused time. Those commercial decisions are pending. This draft does not promise a voluntary refund period or impose a “no refunds” rule.
Cancellation and renewal design
The planned account will provide online cancellation of future renewal without requiring a phone call. Checkout and receipts must explain when cancellation takes effect and whether access continues through a paid term. Cancellation and a refund request are distinct actions; the interface must make both understandable. Renewal, annual-plan, price-change and trial notices must be implemented where required before charging customers.
Consumer remedies
Applicable statutory rights concerning withdrawal, defective or misdescribed services, unauthorized billing and refunds take priority over a voluntary commercial policy. The final checkout must apply the rules for the service and customer’s location, including any required request to start service during a withdrawal period. There is no blanket waiver of withdrawal or consumer rights in this draft.
How requests will work
A verified support or merchant-of-record refund channel must be configured before purchases are enabled. Customers should need only an account or receipt reference and a description of the issue, not full card details or their private files.
